Moving Along
“It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop.” -Confucius
I have started to crank out (to the best of my ability) sheets for Pirant. I’m on borrowed time though, since the school year starts in about three weeks. I figure that if I can average one unit/sheet per day, I can have a solid dent into the math section of the website — which goes to show the ambition behind the whole thing. I’ll continue them into the year, slowly but consistently.
The whole idea behind the sheets was that when taking classes, I have noticed that multiple choice questions are scarce to come by on a per unit basis. Sure, at the end there are resources, but especially towards the beginning of the year there is near nothing. The idea is that as people who have taken the classes and are tutoring in said classes, we are the most qualified to generate these problems according to what we have experienced. At the moment, I have a good dent in the Algebra 1 curriculum and am a 1/5 (ish) of the way through calculus.
That’s pretty much the extent to what I’m doing, besides getting more tutors and updating the rest of the website accordingly.

I went to the Hamptons with my family this past week. The stores are fancy, and the houses are expensive. Here are a few photos I took on the trip. I wasn’t with the camera as often during the trip, so there are less photos than normal — which I guess is both a good and bad thing.
Here are a few of my favorites:

The dead crab skeletons were everywhere on the beaches. Almost every step, dozens of new skeletons would emerge. All the photos are published on my flickr: (flickr.com/photos/perrinphoto/)

I never understood how people can work in coffee shops. I remember trying a few years back, but I simply grew distracted by the background noise and conversation. For a long time, I could only get significant work done in silence — typically at night in my room.
I don’t know how or why, but recently I’ve grown to enjoy a bit of background noise. It’s a great thing, because now I am way more productive during the day when a movie or show is playing in the background. On the trip, I went to a coffee shop to work, and I was surprisingly productive. The feeling of not doing anything for a few days gave me some extra motivation to do some miscellaneous stuff – like college essays. Being hyper-focused in a busy environment makes me work even faster, as the noise almost fills the wandering parts of my brain.
It’s a good thing, since I can get more work done during the day and have less for the night. As a result, I can go to bed earlier — which is always a positive.
Great post
It agree, rather useful idea
